Weather:  High Winds up to 50mph gusts

Summary:   Mt. San Jacinto season ends with a disappointing finish at the Southern California Regional.  College of the Desert wins the Southern California Championship.  COD's Andrew Perez shots even par for two rounds to win the individual.  The top ten Community College Teams in Southern California came together for the Southern California Regional Championships.   The participants played two rounds, 36 holes, of stroke play on a golf course that was in great shape but subject to very high winds up to 50 mph.  The two days of heavy winds resulted in very unreceptive rock hard greens and very difficult playing conditions.

Mt. San Jacinto who finished third in the Foothill conference, was a strong underdog against the best teams in Southern California and finished a disappointing 10th place.  The MSJC players struggled all day but just could not deal with the tough conditions.  Dave Aguilar was the only ray of light when he rallied after shooting an 82 in the first round to shoot a two over par 74 in the second round for a 156 total and an overall 24th place finish.  Joey Eckles posted 79 in the first round but only managed an 85 in the second round.  The remaining players struggled with higher then normal scores and posted a season high 420-423 for the two rounds.
