Golfers Secure Third Place at PCAC Finals

The MSJC men's golf team secured a third place finish in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference standings on Monday at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside and also had three players advance to neerickliscio15.jpgxt week's Southern California Regional Tournament.nicmedeiros2015.jpg

Rocky Thornton led the way on Monday in the 36 hole event for the Eagles shooting a team best 79 before following it up with an 84.  Erick Liscio had two solid rounds as he carded an 84 and an 82 on the day.  Nicholas Medeiros was next for the Eagles as he shot 88 and 81 while Cesar Cruz put up an 85 and an 89.  Tom Wiggin finished the final day of the regular season by shooting a 90 and a 97 to round out the Eagles scoring.

Thornton, Liscio, and Medeiros all qualified for next Monday's So Cal Regional for their season long efforts.  The Regional is a one day 36 hole event that will take place at Olivas Links in Ventura.

Liscio and Medeiros also garnered First Team All Conference honors for their play this season.

 

 

 Erick Liscio (left) and Nicholas Medeiros (right) were both named to the All Conference team in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference for their play this season.  They along with teammate Rocky Thornton qualified for the Southern California Regional Tournament that will take place at Olivas Links in Ventura on Monday.  The Eagles finished third in the PCAC standings this season.
