Men's Golf Falls into Third After PCAC Match 9

MSJC men's golfer Kieran Blundell was medalist Wednesday at Sycuan Country Club in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Match #9, but the Eagles as a team finished third with a score of 392richieforpcac9-17.jpg.

Blundell shot a 73 while Richard Schweitzer carded a 74, but Sam Proctor was the only other Eagles to break 80 as he turned in a 79.  Vincent Brunet shot 82 for MSJC and Bernard Campos shot 84.  Adam Arechavaleta rounded out the Eagles scoring on the day with an 85.

With the third place finish in match #9, MSJC has now slipped into third place overall in the conference standings.  The Eagles are currently 24-12 in PCAC matches while Palomar pulled another match ahead into second place at 26-10.  Currently College of the Desert leads the PCAC standings at 30-6.  There are three remaining rounds in the regular season for the Eagles.  Monday PCAC match #10 will be played at Sun Lakes Country Club and then on the following Monday April 24th the teams will play two rounds in the PCAC Finals at El Camino Golf Club.

MSJC has three individuals in the top 8 in scoring average in the PCAC so far.  Schweitzer is currently second in the conference with a 74.8 scoring average while Blundell is fifth at 75.4.  Sam Proctor is sitting in 8th place currently at 76.6.

MSJC's Richard Schweitzer is currently second in scoring average (74.8) in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference through nine matches for the Eagle men's golf team with three regular season matches remaining.  As a team the Eagles are currently two matches behind Palomar for second place with a record of 24-12.  (DeeAnn Bradley/MSJC)
