Men's Golf Wins Second Straight Conference Match
The MSJC men's golf team shot a 368 on their home course at Soboba Springs Country Club on Wednesday to finish first in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference match number four.
The Eagles easily defeated their four competitors as they shot 15 strokes better than second place College of the Desert and finished 18 strokes in front of third place Palomar. Cuyamaca out scored El Camino to place fifth in the event. This is the second straight conference match where MSJC has finished first and they now stand just one loss behind Desert in the conference standings. With their 4-0 record on Wednesday the Eagles improved to 13-3, while Desert sits at 14-2.
At Soboba on Wednesday Eagles Richard Schweitzer and Kieran Blundell both shot 71's to tie with Cuyamaca's Justin Vrzich for the day's low round. Vincent Brunet added a 73 for the Eagles while Austin Crenshaw carded a 75. Sam Proctor shot 78 for the Eagles while Bernard Campos round out the team's scoring with an 84.
The Eagles will take a break from conference play on Monday to take part in the Southern California Preview Tournament at El Camino Golf Club.
