Coach Martinez comes to MSJC after spending the past three seasons as an assistant boy's coach at Hemet High School.  Over the past three seasons Coach Martinez has helped the Bulldogs to two appearances in the CIF play-offs as a team and helped guide at least one individual into the CIF play-offs all three seasons.  The team also improved their scoring average in each of the past three seasons.

Coach Martinez taught for 36 years at the high school and middle school levels and spent most of that time coaching as well.  Martinez was the head baseball coach at San Jacinto High School from 1975 to 1980 and the head baseball coach at Banning High from 1980-1988.  Coach Martinez has earned Conference Coach of the Year honors three times in his career and helped his teams to four conference titles.

A graduate of Santa Monica High School, Martinez played baseball in college first at Santa Monica College and then later at Long Beach State University where he earned his degree in 1972.  Pete and his wife Monica have lived in the San Jacinto Valley since 1973.
