Record Round Gives MSJC Golfers Second Place Finish

The MSJC men's golf team shot the best team score in the program's history on Monday as they recorded a 6 under par 354 at Skylinks Golf Club in Long Beach.samthomsonforpcac6.jpg

The Eagles, who were competing in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Match #6, came up just short of first place College of the Desert who turned in a team score of 352.  Four individual scores for MSJC came in under par led by Nathan Brady's 69.  Erick Liscio and Richard Schweitzer both carded two under par 70s and Nicholas Medeiros shot a 1 under 71.  Sam Thomson was also impressive on the day as he shot 74.  Cesar Cruz's 83 did not count in the Eagles team score.

The 6 under par team total is a new school record for the Eagles and brought them back to within 1 loss of second place in the conference standings.  Palomar was third on Monday with a 366, followed by Cuyamaca who shot 379.  El Camino and Victor Valley tied for the fifth spot as both teams shot 404.  The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when the will play a dual match with Cypress College at the Navy Golf Club in Seal Beach.  MSJC's next PCAC match will be Monday April 11th when they travel to Rancho Mirage to play at Desert Island Country Club.

Sam Thomson shot a 74 on Monday to help the MSJC men's golf team to a school record team score of 354 at Skylinks Golf Club in Long Beach.  The Eagles finished second on the day, and had four players score under par in their rounds.
