Eagle Tennis Loses Tight One at COD

The MSJC men's tennis team lost a close Pacific Coast Athletic Conference match on Thursday to College of the Desert 5-4 in Palm Desert.galvoforcod.jpg

The Eagles got off to a good start with a win by Vitor Galvao in the #1 singles match as he won 6-2, 4-6, and 10-5.  Thibaud Garces and Gabe da Costa also picked up singles wins as the team score was tied at 3-3 after singles.  In doubles the Roadrunners captured the #2 and #3 matches to win 5-4.  Galvao and Bruno Campos did get the Eagles other team point with a doubles victory 6-3 and 6-0.

The loss dropped MSJC to 11-5 overall and 9-3 in the PCAC, while Desert improved to 11-0 in conference action.  The Eagles are currently tied for second with San Diego Mesa the team they will host on Tuesday.  Tuesday's match at MSJC will start at 2 pm.


MSJC's Vitor Galvao won both his singles and doubles match on Thursday, but it was not quite enough as the second place Eagles lost to first place College of the Desert 5-4 in Palm Desert.
