Eagle Tennis Team Wins Second Straight
The MSJC men's tennis team won their second straight match on Friday as they defeated Palomar 6-3 in San Marcos.
The Eagles grabbed a 4-2 lead after singles play as Nicolas Tessi, Thibaud Garces, Lauro Madureira, and Thigo Salgado all picked up wins. Tessi had to go to a tiebreaker to win his match 6-4, 0-6, and 10-6, while the other three won in straight sets.
In doubles action Tessi and Garces teamed to win 7-5 and 6-1, while Madureira and Salgado won 7-5, 5-7, and 10-6 in a tightly contested match. Two of Palomar's three points on the day came from MSJC playing the match with just five players which gave the Comets one point each in singles and doubles.
The Eagles are now 2-3 overall on the season and improved to 2-0 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play. MSJC is back in action on Tuesday February 17th when they travel to San Diego City for a 2 pm match.
