MSJC Rolls Past Mt. Sac

The eagles finally returned to their home courts after playing their past six dual matches on the road. They wasted little time taking care of business and securing the win in the singles rotation by the score of 6-0 against visiting Mt. San Antonio College. The match of the day belonged to #6 player Tyler Park as he split sets with his opponent in a match dominated by momentum swings. Tyler was finally able to put the match away in the 3rd set super tiebreak by the score of 10-7, he never gave up and played with an extreme amount of desire and determination! The #1 doubles team of Mensah and Witt remained undefeated in conference match play as did Kenny Hotchkiss and Richard Tetteh (#3 doubles). Unfortunately, Bruno Reich and Carlos Marquez came up short after battling back from a 4-1 deficit, losing to their opponents by the score of 9-7 in the 8 game pro-set.This victory brings the eagles overall record to 10-3 and 6-1 in conference play.
The eagles play at home this thursday against Cerritos College whom have dominated the South Coast Conference for the past 4 years. Cerritos will be looking to avenge their home loss to eagles in the 1st round of conference play. This match will undoubtedly be the biggest home match for the eagles in recent years and will be very competitve! Please come and support the mens tennis team as they go to battle on the tennis courts against Cerritos College this thursday. Match time is set to start at 2pm.
