Men's Tennis Wins Conference Opener

The MSJC men's tennis team opened Pacific Coast Athletic Conference competition for the year on Tuesday and dominated Imperial Valley on their way to a 7-2 win.

The Eagles won all five singles matches in commanding fashion as they lost only one game on their way to 5 two set sweeps.  Imperial picked up their only point in singles from a defaulted match.  Nicholas Tessi won his match for MSJC 6-0 and 6-1 while Thibaud Garces, Lauro Madureira, Thigo Salgado, and Daniel Stuart each won 6-0 and 6-0.

MSJC also won both doubles matches that were played on the court with Tessi and Garces teaming to win 8-1 and Madureira and Salgado winning their match 8-3.  Imperial also picked up one team point on a defaulted doubles match.

The Eagles are now 1-3 on the season and 1-0 in PCAC play.  MSJC will travel to San Marcos to take on Palomar on Thursday in a 2 pm match.
