Men's Tennis Dominates Fullerton

Playing without two starters Tuesday the Eagles tennis team had no problem finding replacements and dominating Fullerton in a 9-0 victory.

Victor Villarreal and Torrey Tripp stepped up into singles roles nicely both winning in straight sets. Tripp was competing in his first ever collegiate match and according to Coach Escatiola was impressive, "He showed very little nerves, especially in doubles." In other singles matches; #1 Taylor Witt, #2 Mitchell Grajeda, #3 Francisco Alvarado, and #4 Carlos Marquez all won in straight sets losing just a combined 5 games.

The story was much the same in doubles as all three MSJC teams won easily with the closest match being 8-5. The Eagles improved to 2-1 on the season and will head to Cerritos on Thursday for a 2 pm match. Cerritos has won the South Coast Conference four years in a row.
