Men's Tennis Downs Mesa 8-1

The MSJC Mens Tennis team hosted San Diego Mesa College on 2/2/10 at the tennis courts on campus and came up with another very strong win. Mesa, current champions of the pacific coast conference and looking to repeat this season, showed up with plenty energy and ready to battle the eagles. Fortunately, MSJC was again ready for the challenge! Emmanuel 'Golden Racket' Mensah lead the talented eagles line-up with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 win at the top spot followed by Gabor 'Gizzy' Toth at the 2 spot with a 6-1 6-4 win. Emmanuel and Gabor also teamed up in doubles for a very dominating 8-2 victory. Bruno Reich, Richard Tetteh and James Bragg also remained undefeated in the singles rotation all winning in straight sets. Stepping up to fill the #6 spot was Joel Duenas who battled hard but ultimately fell to his opponent in a very hard fought singles match by the score of 6-4, 6-2.
The Eagles travel to Div 3 Western Region Power Pomona Pitzer for an early evening match thursday @ 530pm in pomona.
