Eagles Move into First Place in Baseball

The MSJC baseball team improved to 22-7 overall and 13-3 in Foothill Conference play on Thursday with an 8-4 win over host San Bernardino Valley. The win moved the Eagles one game ahead of SBVC and Chaffey College in the conference standings.

B.J. Salsbury was the winning pitcher, throwing a complete game allowing just three earned runs while striking out 13. The Eagles offense pounded out 16 hits in the game. Anthony Smith had 4 hits and scored 2 runs out of the lead off spot for MSJC. Justin Wybenga drove in three runs and Garrett Caldwell had 3 hits and 2 RBIs.

MSJC will host San Bernardino in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12 pm.
