Lady Eagles Hire New Tennis Coach

Yolanda Duron was named the Head Women's Tennis Coach on Thursday July 17th according to Dean of Athletics Patrick Springer.  Her coaching stints have included Cal Poly Pomona, Temple University, and Drexel University.  While at Cal Poly Pomona, she was an assistant for men's and women's tennis.  She conducted strength and conditioning practices, daily tennis practice, travel, and fundraising  Duron's playing experience began in Texas and continued as a college student-athlete. She was named the 1999 ITA/NJCAA Rookie Player of the Year.  Duron also earned athletic scholarships to North Central Texas College and Drexel University.  She earned a NJCAA doubles ranking of #7 in the nation in 2000 and was runner-up in the NJCAA National Doubles #2 Tournament.  Her philosophy is based on honest effort in the classroom and the court. She believes to be compete at the highest level, the team will train consistently, support each other openly and honestly, and enjoy the competition.  Her two mottos are "make it happen" and "set up for success." Duron is also an instructor at MSJC and has recently earned a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton.
