Lady Eagles Softball Team Moves into Second Place

The MSJC softball team beat Chaffey 7-4 on Friday to move into second place alone in the race for the Foothill Conference title. MSJC is now 5-1 in conference play one game behind Antelope Valley.

Friday Lynsie Caldwell once again pitched well throwing a complete game allowinSam Felipeg just five hits while striking out five and allowing no earned runs. The four runs Chaffey scored came in the seventh on three Lady Eagle errors. Klarissa Flores, Angel Felipe, and Caldwell all had three hits for MSJC. Angel and Sam Felipe both homered in the game and drove in two runs. Sami Rodriguez added a double for MSJC who jumped out to an early lead scoring four runs in the first and three in the second to build a 7-0 lead. The score stayed that way until Chaffey scored their four unearned runs in the top of the seventh.

The Lady Eagles are now 11-11 overall and will be back in action on Wednesday when they host San Bernardino Valley in Menifee.


Sam Felpie had a homerun on Friday to help MSJC into sole possession of second place in the Foothill Conference with a 7-4 win over Chaffey.
