Lady Eagles Win Big at Imperial

The MSJC women's basketball team started fast and finished strong Wednesday night as they defeated host Imperial Valley College 84-45.

Danielle Smith led the charge for the Lady Eagles scoring all of her gameAutum Jenkins high 16 points in the first half. Rayven Lewis, Julia Oberst, and Brandie McCann all had 10 points in the victory for MSJC. The Lady Eagles used full court pressure to jump out to an early lead and carried that momentum through the first half taking a commanding 41-19 lead at the break.

In the second half the Lady Eagles continued to shoot the ball well as 12 of the 13 players who played in the game for MSJC scored at least 2 points. Anissa Anglin was strong off the bench for the second straight game scoring 9 points while Autum Jenkins chipped in with 8. Along with her 16 points Smith also had 7 assists and 6 steals in the game, Oberst recorded her third straight double double with 11 rebounds to go with her 10 points.

The Lady Eagles now stand at 8-1 on the season. MSJC is back in action on Friday December 12th when they travel to San Marcos to take on Palomar. Palomar is currently ranked #4 in the state while the Lady Eagles will enter the game ranked 12th and #6 in Southern California.



Autum Jenkins was solid off the bench Wednesday night scoring 8 points and grabbing 7 rebounds to help MSJC to a victory over Imperial Valley College.
