The MSJC women's basketball team, who tied for the Foothill Conference Championship, had a large presence on the 2010 all league team.
Danielle Smith a sophomore from Moreno Valley was named the conference MVP after averaging league highs in both scoring and assists during the conference schedule. Smith finished the conference year averaging 20.7 points and 7.9 assists over the 14 game schedule. Smith was also named First Team All Conference last year as a freshman.
Tiffany Smith, Kyna Lewis, and Nicole Villalobos all earned First Team All Foothill Honors while Autumn Spikes was named Honorable Mention All Conference. Tiffany Smith, a Vista Murrieta graduate, finished conference play averaging nearly a double double at 18.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. During the entire season she ended up averaging 19.7 points and 9.6 rebounds. Villalobos, who was an honorable mention pick last season as a freshman, earned First Team honors after averaging 9.5 points and 8.8 rebounds on the season. Nicole is a native of Bakersfield. Lewis a sophomore form Hubbard High in Chicago led the Lady Eagles in rebounding for the season pulling in 10 a game. She also averaged 8.5 points per night. Spikes, a freshman from San Diego Mt. Miguel High, made the honorable mention list after scoring 9.8 points and grabbing 8 rebounds a game. Thanks to the team's accomplishments, Lady Eagles coach Chris Mozga was named the Foothill Conference Coach of the Year.
The Lady Eagles play in the Southern California Regional Semi-Finals on Friday at Mt. San Antonio College. Game time is set for 5:30 pm.
