MSJC Women Win Conference Showdown

The MSJC women's basketball team defeated defending conference champion San Beranrdino Valley Friday night 71-57 in their home gym.

Danielle Smith led a trio of Lady Eagles in double figureAutumn Spikess with 25 points and 10 assists. Nicole Villalobos added 17 points and 7 rebounds while Tiffany Smith recorded a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

MSJC led most of the way building seven point halftime lead behind solid defense and rebounding. The Lady Eagles were able to push the lead to as much as 18 in the second half before the Wolverines closed the gap. Paige Haynes led the SBVC offense with 16 points.

The victory improved the Lady Eagles overall record to 14-3 and kept them unbeaten in Foothill Conference play at 3-0. San Bernardino fell to 13-4 overall and 1-1 in conference. MSJC will be back in action Friday night January 15th when they host Rio Hondo as part of a men's and women's conference doubleheader. The women's game will tip-off at 5 pm with the men to follow at 7 pm.
