Men's and Women's Tennis Both Advance 4 Players to State

The MSJC men's and women's tennis teams each had one singles player and two doubles teams advance to the State Tournament in Ojai which will be held April 21st through the 24th.niccotessi-16.jpg

On the men's side, Nicolas Tessi won two matches over the weekend in the rain shortened Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Tournament to advance in the singles bracket to the Ojai event.  Tessi also teamed with Brandon Herman to advance in the doubles competition.  Fellow Eagles Edward Mora and Derrick Higgins also advanced through the PCAC Tournament as a doubles team.

The Lady Eagles saw Stacey Klink advance in the women's PCAC tournament in singles as she also won twice in the weather shortened tourney in San Diego.  Klink
staceyandshayla-16.jpgand along with doubles partner Shayla Evans also moved on in doubles.  The team of Stephanie Jahnsen and Nia Jenkins also moved on to Ojai as a doubles pair.

The Lady Eagles finished the regular season as a team with a record of 4-8 overall, they were 3-7 in PCAC dual matches.  The men's team went 2-15 and 1-9 in conference play.

The draw for the Ojai event will be announced later this week.

Nicolas Tessi advanced to the State men's tennis tournament in singles for MSJC by winning two matches at the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Tournament this past weekend.  He will also play in the double event with teammate Brandon Herman.  For the women's team Shayla Evans and Stacey Klink advanced as a doubles team and Klink also advnaced to the singles draw.  These four athletes along with men's players Edward Mora and Derrick Higgins and women's players Nia Jenkins and Stephanie Jahnsen will represent MSJC April 21st through the 24th in Ojai.
