Men Win Thriller, Women Lose at SBVC

The MSJC men's basketball team completed a furious second half comeback with a 90-82 win over San Bernardino Valley on Saturday. The women's team lost to the host Wolverines 63-48 dropping them out of a tie for first place.

In the men's game SBVC had built a second half lead that had grown to 18 points with little over 10 minutes to play. The Eagles slowly chipped away closing the gap to 11 with 4 minutes remaining, then got a tip in at the buzzer from Dejuan Flowers to tie the game at 71 and force it into overtime. The Eagles took over in the extra session scoring 19 points. The win improved the Eagles to 24-4 overall and 8-2 in conference play.

The women's game was a battle for first place in the conference and the Wolverines came away with the victory. Michelle Simmons and Thalia Benjamin both scored 12 points for the Lady Eagles who dropped to 18-9 on the season and 10-2 in conference play. SBVC took over first place with the win and are now 21-5 overall and 10-1 in Foothill play.
