Men's Tennis Shuts Out El Camino

MSJC Mens Tennis once again dominated El Camino College in a 2nd round South Coast Conference Dual Match played on 3/31/09 at the MSJC Tennis courts. Super Sophmore Taylor Witt avenged a loss which he suffered last season against the #1 singles player from El Camino, Tsuyoshi Nagaoka. In last season's match these two players battled for almost 2 hours and Taylor lost 15-13 in a 3rd set tie-break. This year however, Taylor has become a stronger and more experienced player and dispatched Nagaoka in straight sets by the score of 6-4, 6-4. Taylor has shown plenty of growth in his singles play and also in his doubles skills teaming up with the Emmanuel Mensah to dominate the South Coast Conference having not lost a doubles match heading into the final 2 dual matches of the season this thursday and next tuesday. Overall, the Eagles had little trouble defeating El Camino and the match was decided after the singles rotation heading into the doubles.
The Eagles continue dual match play this thursday as they host Long Beach City College. This match will be played at the Valley Wide Recreation Center Tennis Courts at 2pm. Please come support the Eagles as they wrap up the season heading into the south coast conference tournament and regional play.
