Fast Start Leads Palomar Past MSJC Softball Team
The MSJC softball team had a rough start on Wednesday and could not recover as they lost to Palomar 12-1 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference game in Menifee.
The Lady Eagles could not get out of the top of the first inning, before the Comets had put 7 runs on the board to take the early lead. Palomar would continue to pull away as they added a single run in the 2nd, two more in the third, and single runs in the fourth and fifth. MSJC's lone run of the game came in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Jordan Sage took the loss in the circle for the Lady Eagles, Jena Chilson and Sierra Falcon finished up the game in releif for MSJC. Ashley Brown managed the team's only two hits in the game going a perfect 2 for 2 on the day with a walk. Angie Lopez scored the Lady Eagles run.
The loss makes MSJC's record 19-15 overall on the year and 6-7 in PCAC play, moving them into fifth place in the conference standings while Palomar remained unbeaten in PCAC games at 13-0, they are 23-4 overall.
MSJC returns to action on Friday when they travel to San Diego Mesa for a 3 pm game.

Ashley Brown had both of MSJC's hits on Wednesday, but the Lady Eagles fell to first place Palomar 12-1 in a PCAC game played in Menifee. MSJC will be back in action on Friday when they travel to San Diego Mesa for a 3 pm game.
