Lady Eagels Hold On to Beat Victor Valley

The MSJC softball team started fast then had to hold on as they defeated host Victor Valley on Wednesday 10-6.Jennifer Strawbridge

The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 7-1 lead after four innings before Victor Valley made a game of it. Lynsie Caldwell picked up the pitching victory throwing the first three innings before returning to throw the final two. Caldwell also had a big day at the plate collecting 2 hits and  3 runs batted in. Jen Strawbridge added two hits and an RBI. Anissa Anglin had two hits, two stolen bases and a walk in the victory.

The win improved MSJC's overall record to 14-13 and raised their Foothill Conference mark to 8-1. The Lady Eagles are back in action on Friday when they travel to the San Diego City Tournament. They will play Saddleback at 9 am and Oxnard at 3 pm on Friday in pool play. The tournament is being held at Hourglass Park located at 10440 Black Mountain Rd in Mira Mesa.


Jen Strawbridge had 2 hits and an RBI as the MSJC softball team stayed in the race for the Foothill Conference Championship with a 10-6 win at Victor Valley.
