Late Rally Lifts Mesa Over MSJC Softball Team

The MSJC softball team held a 6-4 lead heading into the 7th inning on Wednesday, but a big rally by San Diego Mesa in the top half of the 7th ended the Lady Eagles day in a 9-6 loss.ashbrownvsmesa.jpg

MSJC had built their lead with a run in the bottom of the first, three more in the bottom of the fourth and a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth, but the five run 7th for the Olympians was the difference.  The Lady Eagles did collect 14 hits on the day and 5 different players each picked up an RBI.

Gabby Sanchez and Jena Chilson each had 3 hits for MSJC while Ashley Brown, Jazmin Albizures, and Angie Lopez all had 2 hits a piece.  Brown also scored 2 runs.

The loss drops MSJC to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.  Mesa improved to 5-6 and 2-1 in the PCAC.  The Lady Eagles will travel to San Diego City on Friday.


Ashley Brown had 2 hits and scored 2 runs on Wednesday, but the MSJC softball team lost 9-6 to San Diego Mesa.
