MSJC Softball Drops Tough One on the Road

The MSJC softball team had a rough first inning on Monday and couldn't recover as they lost on the road to Saddleback in a non-conference game 12-1.

The Lady Eagles fell behind 7-0 after the first inning and then 12-0 after 3 innings, before pushing a run across in the top of the fourth.  Arianna Abarca scored on a ball hit by Nathalie Valles that was misplayed by the Gauchos defense.

Abarca, Nathalie Rocha, and Brittni Heath had a hit a piece for MSJC in the loss.  Alisa Erl took the pitching loss for the Lady Eagles as she threw the first 2 and 1/3 innings, Alexis Holler came in to finish up the game going 1 and 2/3 innings allowing just one earned run.

MSJC in now 3-2 on the season while Saddleback improved to 1-2.  The Lady Eagles will return to action on Friday when they travel to Glendora to take on Citrus and Rio Hondo.  MSJC will face Citrus at 3 pm and then take on Rio Hondo at 5.
