MSJC Softball Swept at Chaffey
The MSJC softball team saw their five game winning streak come to an end on Saturday as they lost a pair of non-conference games at Chaffey.
In the first game the Panthers scored 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take control of a game they won 6-3. Karina Hernandez went 2 for 3 for MSJC and had an RBI in the loss. Amanda Munoa added a triple. Sierra Falcon went the distance in the circle and took the loss, throwing 6 innings and allowing 6 runs.
In the second game, again it was one big inning by Chaffey that made the difference as they scored 6 times in the bottom of the fourth to win by a score of 7-3. Ashley Brown, Jena Chilson, and Angie Lopez each had an RBI for the Lady Eagles. Brown and Lopez both had 2 hits.
The two losses drop MSJC to 13-8 on the season while Chaffey improved to 15-4-1. The Lady Eagles will be back in action this week with a pair of conference road games. Wednesday MSJC travels to Chula Vista to take on Southwestern and Friday they travel to San Marcos to play Palomar. Both Pacific Coast Athletic Conference games this week will start at 3 pm.
