MSJC Softball Team Splits Doubleheader with SBVC

The MSJC softball team lost a late lead in the first game on Saturday, but bounced back to win the nightcap as they split a non conference doubleheader with San Bernardino Valley in Menifee.chilsonforsbvc.jpg

The Lady Eagles led 5-4 after six innings in game one, but the Wolverines rallied for 3 runs in the top of the 7th to steal the victory 7-5.  Jena Chilson took the hard luck loss in the circle for MSJC despite helping her own cause with two hits, two RBIs, and a run scored.  Seven different MSJC players had hits in the opener.

In game two Chilson again had two hits and Jazmin Albizures and Marissa Morales each drove in a run as this time MSJC scored in the bottom of the seventh to win 3-2.  Sierra Falcon threw a complete game allowing just 7 hits and 2 runs while picking up the victory.  Maegan Rowley scored twice and Alyssa Rayls scored once in the win.

The Lady Eagles are now 2-5 on the season and will open Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play on Wednesday when they host Southwestern on the Menifee Campus.  Wednesday's game is scheduled for 3 pm.
