The MSJC softball team jumped out to an early lead on Friday at College of the Desert and held on to pick up a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference win 9-7.
The Lady Eagles got ahead in the top of the first when Kristin Storer used a bunt single to score Jordan Sage to take a 1-0 lead. MSJC's next hitter Klarissa Garcia then hit a double in the gap to score Storer as the Lady Eagles took an early 2-0 advantage. Ari Abarca, Sierra Yagle, and Amanda Escalera all had RBIs in the fifth. The highlight of the inning was a two run triple by Escalera. The Lady Eagles would tack on single runs in the top of the 6th and 7th as they held off the Roadrunners.
