MSJC Softball Wins at SD City
The MSJC softball team picked up a 4-1 win at San Diego City on Friday in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference contest.
The Lady Eagles snapped a five game losing streak with a strong pitching performance from Sierra Falcon who threw a complete game allowing just one unearned run on the day. Falcon struck out 5 while allowing just 3 hits and walking 4. Falcon also helped on offense as she drove in the first run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning scoring Ashley Brown.
MSJC pushed their lead to 3-0 in the fourth when Marissa Morales singled home Jazmin Albizures and Angie Lopez drove in Maegan Rowley. The Lady Eagles would extend the lead to 4-0 in the fifth when Nicole Stressling scored an unearned run. The Knights only run of the game would come in the bottom of the 7th to break up the shut out.
The win improved MSJC to 10-19 overall on the season and they moved to 4-11 in PCAC play. San Diego City fell to 9-23 and 3-13. The Lady Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to El Cajon to take on Grossmont in a 3 pm game. MSJC will play their final home game of the season on the Menifee Campus Friday at 1 pm when they host Imperial Valley.
