Softball Starts Conference With Tough Loss

The MSJC women's softball team opened the Foothill Conference portion of their schedule on Wedaleenaaction1.jpgnesday and came away with a heart wrenching extra inning loss at Rio Hondo 5-3.

The Lady Eagles held a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh before the Roadrunners were able to rally to send the game into extra innings.  Both pitchers shut down the opposing offenses in the 8th and 9th innings, before MSJC was able to push a run across in the top of the 10th.  Rio answered though with a three run walk off home run.

The loss drops MSJC to 0-7-1 overall and 0-1 in conference while Rio improved to 2-9 and 1-0.  The Lady Eagles are back in action on Friday when they travel to Barstow for a 3 pm game.




Aleena Bahling pitched 9 and 2/3 innings Wednesday striking out 5 as MSJC lost their Foothill Conference opener at Rio Hondo 5-3 in 10 innings.
