Softball Team Evens Record with Win Over ELAC

The MSJC softball team picked up a home win on Wednesday as they defeated East Los Angeles College in a game played in Menifee 10-5.hannamortonforelac-17.jpg

The Lady Eagles jumped ahead 4-0 in the bottom of the first inning and then after the Huskies had closed the gap to 4-2 with single runs in the second and third blew the game open with another four run inning in the bottom of the fourth.  MSJC would tack on single runs in the fifth and sixth for the victory.

Kerry Hernandez led the way for the Lady Eagle offense with two hits and 3 RBIs.  Natalia LeDesma had 2 RBIS for MSJC while Savanah Ruiz had a game high 3 hits.  In all MSJC pounded out 11 hits in the contest. 

MSJC used three pitchers on the day with Hannah Morton earning the victory.  Morton went 2 innings and allowed just one run on 2 hits while walking one and striking out 2.  Jordan Sage also put in two innings of work while Alisa Erl threw three complete innings.

The win improves the Lady Eagles to 4-4 on the season.  MSJC is scheduled to be back in action on Friday when they travel to Goldenwest for a 10 am game.
