The MSJC softball team picked up their first win as a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference on Wednesday as they beat visiting San Diego City College 4-2.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Laekyn Causey, who had pinch run for an injured Rayna Winters, scored on an RBI ground out by Gabby Sanchez. MSJC scored three more times in the bottom of the fifth on RBIs from Alejandra Navarro, Roni Alonzo, and Brenna Drake to push the lead to 4-0.
Lauren Partnoff went the distance in the circle for the Lady Eagles scattering 6 hits over 7 innings and giving up no earned runs. Partnoff walked just one and struck out 4 in the victory.
MSJC improved to 9-9 overall and 1-3 in PCAC play while City fell to 3-12 overall and 1-4 in conference action. The Lady Eagles will be back at home on Friday when they host Grossmont in a 3 pm game at Wheat Field in Menifee, right next to the MSJC-Menifee Campus.
Lauren Partnoff threw a complete game on Wednesday to help the MSJC to a 4-2 win over San Diego City College to earn MSJC their first win of the year in their new conference the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.
