The Lady Eagles fell behind early as they trailed 1-0 after the first inning, but came back quickly to grab a 2-1 lead in the top of the second when Natalia LeDesma drove in a pair of runs with a single scoring Savanah Ruiz and Amanda Escalera.  The Gauchos evened the score with a run in the bottom of the fourth, but once again MSJC fired right back to grab the lead in the top of the fifth.  In the fifth the Lady Eagles got a couple of RBI singles from Jordan Sage and Kristen Storer to reclaim the lead at 4-2.  Both teams were held scoreless the rest of the way.

LeDesma picked up the pitching victory for MSJC, as she went 7 innings allowing just one earned run on eight hits.  LeDesma walked none and struck out one.

MSJC improved to 15-16 on the season with the victory while Saddleback fell to 19-14.  The Lady Eagles have two games remaining on the year, they will play their final home game on the Menifee Campus next Tuesday April 25th when the host Palomar and then wrap up the season with a road contest the next day at San Diego Mesa.  Both games next week will begin at 3 pm.
