Softball Team Picks up First Win of 2019

The MSJC softball team got a solid pitching performance from Tiffany Borst on Friday as they picked up a 3-0 home win over San Bernardino Valley in a PCAC game.Tiffany Borst-sball-bio-19.jpg

The Lady Eagles scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to break up a scoreless tie to claim the victory.  Kaylee Heath picked a pair of RBIs while Torie Thorstensen added one in the win.  MSJC collected 7 hits in all on the day including two from Jessica Noriega.

The story of the day though was Borst who threw a complete game allowing just one hit and walking just one to earn the victory in the circle for the Eagles.

The win was the first of the season for the young MSJC squad as they improved to 1-8 on the year and 1-2 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference games.  SBVC fell to 1-13 on the year and 0-3 in league action.  MSJC has two games scheduled this week beginning with a road game at San Diego City on Wednesday at 3 pm.  Friday the Eagles will be back at home in Menifee when they host Southwestern at 1 pm.
