Softball Team Splits Doubleheader at Imperial

The MSJC softball team won game one 9-1 and lost game two 11-8 at Imperial Valley on Friday. The team's games for this past weekend were rained out. MSJC is curAngel Feliperently 3-6 on the season.                            

In game one on Friday Angel Felipe, a San Jacinto High product, picked up the pitching victory going five innings and allowing just one earned run. Alexis Simpson added three RBI for the Lady Eagles as they scored three runs in the second inning and six in the fifth. Audrey FookSamFelipes picked up two hits for MSJC and an RBI.              

In the second game both Angel Felipe and Sam Felipe went 2 for 4 with a double and a home run, but it wasn't enough as MSJC fell 11-8. Samantha Martinez took the loss pitching for the Lady Eagles despite giving up just three earned runs and striking out six. The Lady Eagles defense committed 8 errors in the game.

MSJC will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Soboba Tournament at Winchester Park. Watch our website for game times.
