Softball Team Wins Fifth Straight
The MSJC softball team received a dominate pitching performance from Jordan Sage on Wednesday to pick up their fifth straight win as they defeated Imperial Valley 6-0 at Imperial.
The Lady Eagles pitcher went all 7 innings to earn the shut out. Sage allowed just 5 hits and one walk while striking out 8. Sage was also dominate on offense as she went a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate and drove in a run. MSJC got off to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning and then added two more runs in the top of the fourth and then tacked on single runs in the 6th and 7th innings to win comfortably. Karina Hernandez had 3 RBIs in the victory while Amanda Munoa added another. Ashley Brown went 3 for 4 for MSJC as the team banged out 14 hits.
The win improved MSJC's overall record on the season to 13-6, their Pacific Coast Athletic Conference record moved to 3-2. Imperial Valley fell to 0-5 in conference and 8-8 overall. The Lady Eagles return to action on Saturday as they travel to Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga for two games.
