Three Lady Eagle Softball Players Honored by PCAC
The MSJC softball team had three players earn honors this week when the 2015 All Pacific Coast Athletic Conference team was announced.
Shortstop Ashley Brown and pitcher/infielder Sierra Falcon were both named 2nd Team All Conference while pitcher/infielder Jena Chilson was tabbed Honorable Mention All PCAC.
Brown, a freshman from Vista Murrieta High, finished the season hitting .370 while driving in 12 runs and scoring a team best 21 times. Brown's .370 batting average was second best on the team while on defense she recorded a team high 94 assists and was involved in a team high 8 double plays. Falcon, a freshman out of Hemet West Valley High, hit .329 on the year and had 10 RBIs
while collecting six extra base hits and scoring 10 runs. Falcon also pitched in 21 games and had a record of 6-10 in the circle throwing 91 innings and striking out 38 hitters. Chilson who is from Menifee Heritage High and is also a freshman led the Lady Eagles on the year with 3 homeruns. Chilson also drove in 14 runs which was second highest on the team and batted .361. Chilson pitched in 21 games for MSJC and had a record of 4-10, she threw 99 and 2/3 innings on the year and had an ERA of 4.42.
The Lady Eagles finished the 2015 season with a record of 10-22 overall and 4-14 in PCAC play. The 2015 season also marked the opening of the Lady Eagles new home field on the Menifee Campus.
