Lady Eagle Volleyball Rolls Past Miramar
The MSJC volleyball team made quick work of San Diego Miramar on Friday night as they won their conference home match in straight sets.
The Lady Eagles got off to a fast start as they won the first set 25-10, then won the second by a score of 25-14. MSJC put the match away with a dominating third set as they finished off the sweep with a 25-3 win.
Lauryn Patterson led a balanced offensive attack with 8 kills, Faith Galvan, Jamie Loerch, and Adrianah Grajeda all had 5. Lannie Maffucci had a team best 19 assists while Ariana Velasquez dished out 14. Cynthia Arrango had a match high 14 digs in the victory and Grajeda added two solo blocks and a block assist.
MSJC is now 16-3 on the season and they improved to 5-1 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division standings. The win on Friday sets up a huge week of action for the Lady Eagles as they take on the two teams battling with them for the conference title. MSJC starts the week on Wednesday when they travel to Palm Desert to take on College of the Desert at 5 pm. Desert comes into the match with a 4-2 record in the PCAC North, just one win behind MSJC for second place. The Lady Eagles defeated Desert the first time around on October 5th in 4 sets. Friday MSJC will take on undefeated conference leader MiraCosta. Friday's home match against the Spartans is also set to begin at 5 pm.
The MSJC volleyball team picked up another win on Friday night as they improved to 16-3 with a sweep of San Diego Miramar. The Lady Eagles will travel to College of the Desert on Wednesday before coming home to take on first place MiraCosta Friday. Both matches this week begin at 5 pm. (DeeAnn Bradley/MSJC).
