Lady Eagle Volleyball Team Sweeps IVC
The MSJC volleyball team picked up a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference victory on Thursday night as they defeated visiting Imperial Valley in straight sets.
The Lady Eagle won by scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 26-24 for sweep. Sabrina Latteri led a balanced offense for MSJC with 15 kills while Dayanerra Taoete had 14 and Alexxis Carillo had 6. Six on the ten Lady Eagles that played in the match recorded at least three kills. Johannah Simon and Hannah Schaffer combined for 35 assists with Simon picking up 23 in the victory. Latteri also led the MSJC defensive effort as she had 24 digs, Kaylee Thornton had 10.
The win improved the Lady Eagles to 5-19 overall on the season and 4-11 in PCAC action while the Arabs fell to 5-19 and 3-12. MSJC will wrap up their season on Wednesday night when they host Cuyamaca on Sophomore night here on the San Jacinto Campus. Wednesday's match will begin at 5 pm.
