Lady Eagle Volleyball Team Sweeps SBVC

The MSJC women's volleyball team dominated from the opening of the match on Wednesday night as they swept visiting San Bernardino Valley 3-0 in a non conference contest.bartkovssbvc.jpg

The Lady Eagles won the first set 25-17 and then got stronger as the night went on winning the second 25-13 and closing out the match with a convincing 25-8 win.  MSJC spread out the offense on the evening with six different players recording kills, led by sophomore Taylor Kushner with 20.  Setter Alyssia Theis added 8 kills while Meghan Bartko had 5 and Mercedes Bree and Iesha Leota both had 3 a piece.

Theis also had a match high 34 assists to go along with 7 digs.  The Lady Eagle defense was also dominate as Sam Salcido picked up 13 digs and Kushner, Bree, Leota, and Theis all had 2 solo blocks.

The win improved MSJC to 4-1 on the season while San Bernardino Valley fell to 2-2.  The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Friday September 12th when they travel to the Riverside City Tournament.  MSJC will take on Mt. San Antonio and Riverside on Friday.


Meghan Bartko had 5 kills and 4 block assists on Wednesday night as the MSJC volleyball team easily defeated San Bernardino Valley 3-0 in a non conference match.
