Lady Eagles Volleyball Team Sweeps Imperial

The MSJC women's volleyball team traveled to Imperial Valley College on Wednesday night and swept the Arabs in three sets in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference match.samsalcido.jpg

The Lady Eagles easily won the first set 25-12, and went on to control the match from there winning the second 25-14 and the third 25-12.

MSJC used a balanced scoring attack led by Taylor Kushner who had a team high 17 kills.  Iesha Leota had 12 kills and Meghan Bartko had 6.  Setter Alyssia Theis added 4 kills to go along with 26 assists and 10 digs.  Sam Salcido had a strong back row match as well with 5 assists and 12 digs.

The victory improved MSJC's record on the season to 9-3 overall and 2-1 in PCAC play.  The Lady Eagles, who are currently ranked #24 in the state, return to action next Wednesday October 8th when they travel to El Cajon to take on Cuyumaca in a 5 pm match.

 

Sam Salcido had 5 assists and 12 digs on Wednesday night as the MSJC women's volleyball team swept Imperial Valley in a PCAC match 3-0.
