MSJC Volleyball Rolls Past San Bernardino Valley
The MSJC women's volleyball team played their first home match of the season on Friday night in their newly renovated gym and swept San Bernardino Valley 3-0.
The Lady Eagles took the first set 25-17, the second 25-16, and then dismantled the Wolverines in the third 25-8 to win the match easily. Luann O'Kane had a match high 10 kills in the victory, she also picked up 5 digs on defense. Kayley Stephens added 8 kills for the Lady Eagles and also had a block assist. Lauren Robertson and Cashlee Hullar also contributed on offense with 6 and 5 kills respectively. Camryn Bootsma passed out 20 assists while Lannie Maffucci had 11. Cynthia Arrango led the defensive effort with a match high 17 digs.
The win improves the Lady Eagles overall season record to 10-10, they are now 4-3 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division contests. San Bernardino Valley dropped to 2-16 overall and 0-6 in conference matches. MSJC will celebrate "Sophomore Night" on Wednesday November 1st when they host Palomar in a 5 pm match. MSJC will conclude their regular season on November 8th and 14th with a pair of cross-over matches with teams from the PCAC-South Division with times and locations to be determined at a later date.
