MSJC Volleyball Set to Start Season Friday

The Lady Eagles and first year head coach Serinna Russo will head into the year with three returning players from last year's squad.  First Team All Pacific Coast Athletic Conference performer Taylor Kushner from Heritage High returns for MSJC.  Kushner led the PCAC in kills last season as a freshman.  Setter Alissya Theis (Yucaipa HS) also returns after leading the team in assists during 2013 and being named Second Team All PCAC.  Kriston Hilkey, an outside hitter from Redlands HS, rounds out the returning group. 

Coach Russo comes to MSJC after spending 2012 as an assistant coach at Davis and Elkins College.  As a player Russo was named to the All Big East Team in her senior season at West Virginia University and was 7th in the nation amongst Division I players in digs.

The Lady Eagles are coming off a season in which they recorded a 15-9 overall record and a mark of 7-7 in the PCAC.  After Friday's match the Lady Eagles will travel to Imperial Valley on Saturday September 6th to participate in the IVC Tournament. 



Taylor Kushner will lead the 2014 MSJC women's volleyball team into the season on Friday night when MSJC host Pasadena City College at 5 pm.  Kushner led the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference in kills last season as a freshman.
