MSJC Volleyball Wins Fifth in a Row

The MSJC volleyball team rallied from being down two sets to one on Friday night to pick up their fifth straight victory as they won on the road at Santiago Canyon 3-2.kayleystephens-17.jpg

The Lady Eagles started out a little sluggish in their sixth match in seven days and lost the first set 25-22.  MSJC battled back to escape with a win in the second 26-24, before losing again in the third 25-23.  The Lady Eagles then found their footing and dominated the fourth and fifth sets winning by scores of 25-13 and 15-10 to win the match.

MSJC used a balanced offensive attack to win the match as Luann O'Kane had a team high 14 kills while Kayley Stephens added 10 and Lauren Robertson contributed with 8 kills.  Sophomore setter Camryn Bootsma picked up 28 assists while freshman setter Lannie Maffucci was credited with 13.  Cynthia Arango picked up a team high 16 digs while O'Kane and Ashlyn Ferriera both had 15 to help pace the Lady Eagle defense.

The win, MSJC's 5th in a row, improved their season record to 5-2.  The Lady Eagles will return to action on Thursday September 14th when they travel to Pasadena for a 6 pm match.

MSJC's Kaylee Stephens had 10 kills, 4 blocks, and 4 block assists as the Lady Eagle volleyball team won on Friday night at Santiago Canyon in five sets.  MSJC will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Pasadena for a 6 pm match.
