MSJC Volleyball Wins Third Straight
The MSJC volleyball team won for the third straight time on Friday night as they defeated visiting Cuyamaca College 3-1 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference match.
The Lady Eagles easily won the first set 25-11 and followed with a 25-21 win in the second. The Coyotes would earn their lone set win of the night in the third 25-18, before MSJC bounced back to take the fourth 25-14.
Taylor Kushner had 24 kills to lead the Lady Eagle offense while Iesha Leota added 14. Setter Alyssia Theis had a match high 28 assists and Ashley Cork and Sam Salcido led the way defensively with 12 digs each.
The win pushed the Lady Eagles record to 15-6 on the year and 8-4 in PCAC play while Cuyamaca fell to 1-20 and 1-12. MSJC will travel to Southwestern on Wednesday for a 5 pm match. The Lady Eagles will play their final regular season home match on Friday November 14th when they host Grossmont at 6 pm. Grossmont is currently ranked #2 in the state.
