MSJC Volleyball Wins at Cuyamaca
The MSJC volleyball team defeated Cuyamaca in four sets on Wednesday night in El Cajon to pick up their third Pacific Coast Athletic Conference victory on the season.
The Lady Eagles started quickly taking the first set by a score of 25-17 and then followed by winning the second 25-21. The Coyotes would rally to take the third set 23-25, but MSJC finished the match strong by cruising to a 25-16 win in the fourth set to close out the night.
Taylor Kushner led the offense with 23 kills, while Iesha Leota had 8, and Meghan Bartko finished with 7. Bartko was also strong on defense leading the Lady Eagles with 12 digs and Mercedes Bree picked up two solo blocks. Cristal Jimenez playing her first full game at setter for the injured Alyssia Theis had a match high 32 assists.
MSJC is now 10-3 overall on the season and 3-1 in PCAC action, while Cuyamaca fell to 0-13 and 0-5. The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Friday when they host Southwestern at 5 pm on the San Jacinto Campus.
