Tough One For Women's Volleyball on the Road

The MSJC women's volleyball team had a tough time getting started in Oceanside on Wednesday night and fell in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division match to MiraCosta 3-0.2018volleyballteamphoto-forMiraCosta-1-18.jpg

The Lady Eagles and the Spartans both entered the match on Wednesday at 2-0 in the conference standings, but it was MiraCosta that got off to a strong start as they won the first set 16-25.  The second set did not get much better for MSJC as they fell 8-25, and then lost the third 12-25.

Lauren Patterson and Cashlee Hullar both had 5 kills to lead the MSJC offense while Ruby Ruiz chipped in with 3.  Cynthia Arrango had a team best 7 digs on defense while Iasia Bailey had two solo blocks and a block assist and Adrianah Grajeda had two block assists and one solo.

The loss drops MSJC into a three way tie for second place in the PCAC North at 2-1, they are currently tied in the standings with College of the Desert and Palomar.  The Lady Eagles are 13-3 overall on the season.  MiraCosta improved to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in conference with the win.

MSJC will be back in action on Friday when they host San Bernardino Valley at 5 pm.
