Volleyball Team Gets Road Sweep at SBVC
The MSJC volleyball team picked up a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division win on Friday as they swept San Bernardino Valley on the road.
The Lady Eagles got off to a fast start winning the first set 25-10. MSJC kept the pressure on by taking the second set 25-22 and wrapped up the match with a 25-17 win in the third. Dayanerrah Taoete led a balanced offensive attack for MSJC with 9 kills. Luann O'Kane added 8 kills while Rozary Barrett had 5 and Alexxis Carrillo and Lauren Robertson both knocked down 4 a piece. Hannah Schaffer and Camryn Bootsma took turns passing out assists, with Schaffer finishing the night with 17 and Bootsma with 13.
On defense the Lady Eagles picked up 56 digs in three sets led by Jeannie Hifo who had 15. Taoete also reached double figures with 10 digs while O'Kane and Jade Bell both collected 7.
The win improved MSJC's season record to 14-7 overall, they are 4-2 in PCAC North matches. The Lady Eagles will play their final regular season home match on Wednesday November 2nd when they host Palomar at 5 pm.
