Volleyball Team Loses in Three to Mira Costa
The MSJC women's volleyball team lost on Friday night to Mira Costa College 3-0 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division contest played at Paloma Valley High School.
The Lady Eagles fell behind after losing the first set 25-16. MSJC was very competitive in the second, but couldn't quite grab the set as they lost 26-24. Mira Costa put the match away in the third with a 25-18 win.
Lauren Robertson had a team high 9 kills in the loss while Luann O'Kane added 7. Setter Camryn Bootsma had 21 assists while also helping on defense with 10 digs. Cynthia Arango picked up a team high 14 digs on the night, O'Kane had 8, while Kayley Stephens had one solo block and one block assist.
The loss drops MSJC to 7-8 overall on the season, they are 1-1 in PCAC North play. Mira Costa, who is currently ranked #16 in the State, improved to 15-6 overall and 2-0 in conference. The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to San Bernardino Valley for a 5 pm match.
