Volleyball Team Reaches Regionals for First Time in Program History

The MSJC women's volleyball team was selected as the #17 seed in the CCCAA Southern California Regional Tournament and will be making the program's first ever appearance in the postvballhomepageteam16.jpg

The Lady Eagles will travel to Walnut on Saturday night to take on 16th seeded Mt. San Antonio in a 7pm opening round match.  The winner of Saturday night's contest will travel to either Grossmont or LA Pierce on Tuesday to play in the Regional Round of 16.

MSJC will enter Saturday night's contest after finishing the regular season with an overall record of 15-10, they were 5-3 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division where they tied for second place.  Mt. SAC will come into Saturday night's match after finishing the regular season with an overall mark of 19-3, they were the champions of the South Coast Conference North Division.  These two teams faced each other back on September 7th at the Riverside City Tournament where Mt. SAC defeated the Lady Eagles 3-1.

The Lady Eagles have been led on the season offensively by Luann O'Kane who had 215 kills during the regular season.  Dayannerah Taoete has MSJC's top kills per set average at 2.9 while Camryn Bootsma has passed out a team best 494 assists.  On defense Jeannie Hifo has 352 digs for the season and Alexxis Carrillo has an MSJC high 50 blocks.

The MSJC volleyball team will be making their first ever play-off appearance when they travel to Mt. SAC on Saturday night.  The 15-10 Lady Eagles will take on the 19-3 Mounties at 7pm.
